About this site:
In 1993, I spent the year writing in a blank datebook from 1954. Now, in 2010, I'm posting each page on the web and writing about it. You may want to start at the beginning.

1954: November 4-5

Thursday
For most college students, Thursday is the first night of the weekend; there aren't many Friday morning classes, so a lot of kids get an early start partying. I didn't do it that often (I actually did have a Friday morning class), but for whatever reason, I went out on this one. BK Flyers was a fairly cheesy bar, but it was relatively easy for undergrads to get served there, so a bunch of us went there and danced 'til late and had a blast. As evidenced by...

Secret writing:

I also came possibly dangerously close to screwing around with a very drunk, very sexy girl named Cassy. I'm not yet sure what to make of it... maybe she's up for noncommital sex. Who can say but her?

Friday
Interesting quotes there -- "If you don't risk life, life will never by won." Nicely inspirational.

And again with religion vs. faith, a recurring theme this year.

Note that I woke up at 6:15am -- so I got three hours of sleep -- and Melissa was at my dorm from midnight till 4am. I honestly don't know how I survived on as little sleep as I got down there. I suppose my anticipation of Melissa arriving helped keep me moving.

We made up for a lot of lost time in those four hours.
